Perkins gives this scene a really intimate, late night heaviness. The bedroom has that warm, comfortable glow we’ve seen before, but Bruce’s attention drifting toward the radio shifts the whole mood in a heartbeat. I love how he draws Bruce here. The robe, the bandages, the way he leans in just a little when something catches his ear. You can feel the gears turning. Julie’s expressions are terrific throughout, as well. That expression in the last panel says everything about her worry and frustration. The lighting is especially nice. Soft, but with just enough contrast to underline the emotional distance creeping in. And the final panel lands with a quiet ache, Julie standing there with that mix of hurt and resignation while Bruce is already halfway out the door in his mind. For those of you who like the weight of emotions depicted on the page, this is a very strong one!
