Montano, Yong – Tales of the Zombie #9 p.28
An lovely page by Montano, inked by the legendary Alfredo Alcala, who also provided wash tones as well as white and gray paints! A wonderful, vintage page from 1974 featuring the Zombie's alter ego himself, Simon Garth and his ex, Miranda Garth. The page also features some pretty heady dialogue by a then very young Chris Claremont, that anyone who has divorced from a former spouse but is trying to get along for their children's sake and still feels love for their ex can relate to.
As an interesting matter of provenance, this page was originally sold at Ed Summer’s Supersnipe Comic Book Emporium, more commonly known as simply Supersnipe! The backside of the page has the famed Supersnipe name stamped in red ink as well as the catalogue number 000152 stamped in black ink.
Thinner but also larger than usual paper measuring 14.25" x 19.5", with an image area of 13" x 18.5".
NOTE: There is a 2.25" vertical tear, starting at the top right border which occurred back in the 70's, judging by the way it was repaired with masking tape from the back.
