Celardo, John - Secret Hearts #149 p.17
From 1970, already more than a half century old, we offer this "one and done" single page story! It's fun and quite hilarious to try reading the page, as the couple is British and the writer, Raymond Marais, attempted to allow readers to "hear" their accent by spelling certain words phonetically!
There is another single pager in this issue titled "The Sagittarian Woman", which is clearly illustrated by the same person who drew this one and that page is known to be illustrated by John Celardo because the credit came from one of Dick Giordano's account book.
Celardo had quite a beautiful inking technique whereby his long, swooping lines would be followed by two or three single ink dashes/dots and those dashes/dots give the entire page a very unique look that stands out among all the other Romance artists' styles of the era!
Don't hesitate to add a little bit of Romance to your collection an life, especially when the pages are dirt cheap like this!
