It is sad that in this new millennium, we even feel the need to write this disclaimer. However, this is the world we now live in. To be absolutely clear, we do not in any way condone violence against women, nor violence at all against anyone or anything. We do love this piece, but only in the sense that it is an absolute conversation starter due to the shocking act depicted and the disbelief that any publisher could possibly have allowed this painting to be published on the cover of a paperback novel at any time in our history, let alone in 1952. But it is the very conversations this image provokes which made us want to offer this print in the first place.
