Perkins really leans into Gordon here, and it really works. Those two close‑ups do a lot of the emotional heavy lifting. The blinds behind him in the first panel almost cage him in while he’s trying to keep control of the situation. I like how Maxi and Rabbi Cohen are staged around him. They feel present and animated without ever stealing focus from Gordon’s reactions. The checkered floor and background details in the 2nd to last panel give the room a solid sense of place, so the conversation feels like it’s happening in a real, slightly cramped space. By the final panel, the shadows on Gordon’s face get heavier and more selective, and you can feel the weight of the situation just from the way Perkins shapes the blacks across his face.
